CTSS Skills and Psychotherapy services are housed out of our Waite Park office and serve clients within a 15 mile radius from this location. Services take place in the home or community to help children and their families develop skills to return lost abilities or restore them to typical developmental levels.

Skills can be adapted to many different situations. WHO IS ELIGIBLE? To be eligible for CTSS, a client must work with their provider to determine the need for the in home skills work in their individual treatment plan. comprises a set of skills such as inference, interpretation, evaluation (Facione, 1990), deduction (Furedy & Furedy, 1985), induction (Ennis, 1985), and recognition of assumptions (Watson & Glaser, 1994). Thus, when students are trained to employ CTSs through a set of steps, they may become creative thinkers (Facione & Gittens, 2015).

CTSS addresses the conditions of emotional disturbance that impair and interfere with an individual’s ability to function independently. CTSS services should be characterized by practice and repitition of skills identified in the treatment plan and CTSS progress notes should reflect this.

Skills training and supports are provided so that individuals will become independent and fully functioning within their family and community setting. Some of the many services provided include: Independent living skills; Individual, family, and group skills training for a variety of diagnoses CTSS is an approved centre for the SQA (Scottish Qualification Authority) and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH), which means that we can back up many of our training courses with a nationally recognised certificate or National Vocational Qualification (NVQ).

CTSS, or Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports, is a flexible package of mental health services provided to children and their families. CTSS addresses the symptoms of emotional disturbance that impair and/or interfere with an individual’s ability to function at a typical developmental level.
